We just can't do it all, can we? We try. We really do. But that is just not the way it works because there is just never quite enough time. So something has to give.
That is why we are linking up with Hilary this week to share a spot in our classrooms that is...well...real!
Em teaches in three different classes, plus has some of her things in a janitor's closet. But there is a spot where things just get dumped because time is short. This is the case for random math materials, books, and papers. They will get organized at some point but not right now :)
Maria has many, many read aloud books that were extremely organized...at one time! But...oops! These books are screaming to be organized. They will have to wait until summer :)
What about your classroom?
Just today I told my student teacher that I would pull some great fairy tales for her to include in her ELA unit......but that I had to think about which box, shelf, cupboard or bin they were in first! And.....I wish that I had a janitor's closet to stash things in....or even a mobile storage unit! HA! My colleagues joke that when I retire, it will take me a whole summer to pack up my treasures! Thanks for "keeping it real!" I often tell myself that mess is the sign of creative genius! HA!

Second Grade is Out of This World!
As the year goes on, there are more and more things stuck on shelves or in drawers that will NOT be organized until summer! Thanks for sharing. Seeing classrooms like mine that are less-than-perfect is very therapeutic!

The Write Stuff Teaching
Ha!! It is a summer project for both of us! I love to organize....just never enough time for it.
DeleteToday was a teacher work day. I spent some time going through piles and stacks trying to get myself back to a good place. If I'd have seen this sooner, I would have had some pictures to add :) Enjoy your weekend!

A little too familiar of a view for me... this is how my mentor texts look- I need to find a better system, but I'm glad I'm not alone. :)
